A Look Behind the Veil : Interview with Alisha of One Blushing Bride
It’s sometimes a tough decision for a marrier as for whether or not to wear a veil. There are so many options to consider and then there’s the aspect of blending this traditional aesthetic with their own personality. Whether you’re team veil or a bit skeptical you’ll be thrilled to hear from veil designer Alisha of One Blushing Bride. Her designs are incredible bringing a whole new meaning to what a veil can look like. She was gracious enough to do an interview with us. Enjoy our read:
1) Can you introduce yourself & let us know how you got involved in the wedding industry?
Hi, my name is Alisha! I design handcrafted, artisan wedding veils and accessories. As awoman in today’s social media, photo-shopped world, I struggle with my own feelings of self-worth and beauty. My wedding journey started when my cousin was getting married and asked me to make her wedding veil for her special day. I loved making her feel beautiful, elegant, and special with a customized wedding veil. Years ago, if you would have told me that I would one day quit my previous career as a paralegal in a law firm so that I could work full time as a wedding designer, I would have said you were nuts. But it was one of the best decisions of my life.
2) You create unique and beautiful veils and accessories. Can you elaborate more on this, your business & what makes it so uniquely special ?
I understand that it can be overwhelming trying to plan all the details of your wedding. That’s why I meticulously hand stitch and design my brides’ wedding veils, capes, and accessories so that they walk down the aisle looking elegant and feeling special. They are 100% handcrafted by me in my sunny California studio. Each veil and accessory is personalized for my brides based on their style. My brides don’t want to wear what their friend wore, and I help make that happen. I believe that every woman deserves to feel special and beautiful, especially on her wedding day. The women that I work with are unique, and they deserve the wedding look of their dreams while not looking like every other “cookie-cutter” bride. THAT is why I love to meticulously hand stitch and design wedding veils and accessories. It is so that my brides walk down the aisle looking elegant and feeling valued.
3) Do you offer custom options and if so how does that work?
I love collaborating on custom veils and capes! It is an easy 3 step customization process.
1. Brides share photos of their wedding dress for a personalized style recommendation.

2. Brides review free sample swatches recommended for their dress so that it matches.
3. I stitch their custom artisan veil so that they walk down the aisle feeling beautiful.
4) What are your favorite types of veils to create?
Oooh, I just adore designing lace veils! I appreciate classic and elegant styling, so anything that involves lace brings a thrill to my heart. From light-as-air Chantilly lace designs to more bold statement pieces in Venice and French designs, lace detailing can really elevate even the most simple white dress into something magical.
5) Have you had any super unique and/or bizarre requests?
One of my brides wanted me to embroider every name from her guest list onto her wedding veil. This was for a good cause though. She was separated from many of her loved ones due to the pandemic, and she wanted to honor them by having them with her as she walked down the aisle. Wow! What are your thoughts? I mean I’m simply in love with the designs and the ability to personalize. Wish this would have been around when I personally got married! If you enjoyed this stay tuned because we have future collaborative projects in the works.
