Is Elven the new boho?

Ok, some of you may be like what is Elven? But those who know…know. What does this mean? Is boho no more? Absolutely not ! It’s here to stay but after our aesthetic has been referred to multiple times ( like 3x in a week) as Elven or the client was looking for something Elven I realized it’s something worth commenting on.

So what is it ? I am considering Elven as a type of boho. So no boho is not gone but it is a square -rectangle situation where all Elven is boho but not all boho is Elven. Elven is ethereal, whimsical & effortlessly magical. Think of enchanted woodland vibes or a bit tousled because you’ve been having a magical or witchy adventure. Typically there are braids . Sometimes even multiple braids of varying sizes or types. Fishtails are a fantastic go to as they add texture. The curls are more beauty & waves versus bouncy or cylindrical .

How then is this different than other boho? Well there’s variety & others may have a more romantic & “garden” vibes. The curls may be bouncier, less braids, less texture & more nods to “classic” romantic styles. Those aren’t wrong by any means. I like to reference them as those who are dabbling their toes in boho or the meeting point between ethereal & romantic.

Beyond the hair how can you amp up the Elven vibe? Accessories! There tends to more exploration into bold accessories such as crystals, crowns, elaborate vines & more. You see so many unique pieces that venture into “alt”. I personally dislike the word “alt” or “alternative” because it puts these beauties into the category of other when they are simply just a stunning option. This would be the buzzy SEO words you’d search for them by though incase you’re interested.

So, would you test an Elven look? It could be really magical! I’m curious to see how many times we receive this description & feels like it’s certainly going to become a more frequent occurrence. Still confused by the term Elven? Hint: LOTR. Ok. ok, just do a quick google of Lord of the Rings, Elven, etc & you’ll see the vibe … & maybe fall in love too!
